A Fall ’18 Look with Farfetch

A Fall ’18 Look with Farfetch

This post is in collaboration with Farfetch and Stylinity.

When it comes to shopping for a new season, I always focus on adding key pieces, then mix-matching high and low. The fall pieces I can’t live without including a classic trench coat, a pair of boots that I can walk all day in, and a beret that elevates the look and keeps me warm. Once I get my staple pieces anchored, I’ll add some more items that will stay in my wardrobe for more than one season, items I could pair with my other existing pieces to create different looks, those with interesting elements reflecting trends, and those featuring colors that jibe with my current vibe.

After wearing a lot of black and white over the summer, I’m really feeling colors for the upcoming seasons, especially red and green. To put this fall look together, I picked a classy pair of checked wool pants with a unique pocket and side design and paired them with a faded green T with a dark red logo that matches the pants, and ankle length boots. I threw on a beige trench coat and a beret to complete the look. Pair with a structured bag for an office look or use an oversized tote when running errands. When the weather gets colder, I can easily layer on a white sweater and swap the trench with a staple coat like beige or black.

A favorite place to shop for my key seasonal pieces is Farfetch, where they have the widest range of luxury fashion pieces that are well curated. I always read their newsletter and hop on the website every now and then to browse their new collections and get inspired. Some of my favorite sections on their site are the bags and shoes.

Definitely check out their Sale section, where you might find a great deal on some hidden treasures. If it’s your first time shopping there, don’t forget to take 10% off your first order or an extra 20% off sale until 8th September. You can find those coupons here to save even more.

A Look For Both a Day and a Night Out

A Look For Both a Day and a Night Out

A Look For Both a Day and a Night Out

I’ve been dying to find a piece of stylish knitwear since this winter is all about that. When I saw this pencil knit skirt at Massimo Dutti, I bought it immediately and created this outfit.

I paired it with a pair of Calvin Klein Booties. The whole outfit has a sleek look and is comfortable to wear. You could wear it for a day in the office and you’ll look great going out for a drink at night, as well. I usually wear an extra long black trench coat from Zara (similar product here) when the weather is not too cold.

Praying For Spring

Having been mentioned countless times in major magazines and during NYWF, dark floral pattern prints are no doubt the trend of this spring. I picked up this floral print silk shirt from Massimo Dutti and paired it with ripped jeans and ankle boots to make a cool girl look. And of course, I always throw on a jacket because an outfit looks more interesting when layered up.

Can’t wait to see how you style your floral prints this spring!

Miniskirt? Not exactly

Miniskirt? Not exactly

Miniskirt? Not exactly

Probably because I previously lived in Japan, I’m still obsessed with their school-girl look – a mini skirt with flat loafers and a jacket that hides the figure. This look was inspired by that.

I picked up the black high neck top (this one would work well too) and faux suede skort from Zara. That’s right. It looks like a miniskirt in front but it’s actually a pair of shorts. And of course, black tights. It is an extremely flattering outfit for short people like me, to make your legs look longer. Although this outfit works extremely well with heels, I love to slip on a pair of DKNY loafers with it. They have the softest material that makes them so comfortable to walk in. The design is highlighted by the pearl embedments on the heels. I paired the outfit with a Massimo Dutti checked jacket for a classy look and put on my Finder’s coat when it was cold out.

Casual Wear x Stay Warm In Winter

I know it’s almost time to share spring collections, but I can’t help but share some more winter outfits because many of us are still experiencing cold weather.

During my last trip to New York, I put together this casual outfit which I can walk around all day in and stay warm. I picked up the camel colored jersey with stand up collar and a pair of black joggers (similar style here) from H&M. I styled them with a thick oversized checked coat from Zara. The look was completed with a gigantic camel colored scarf from H&M (similar style here, which proved to be the best $18 ever spent) and a pair of sneakers from Geox.

Snapping away pictures on Brooklyn bridge, I looked exactly like a tourist. But at least I hope I was a stylish tourist.

Winter Outfit for Marfa Trip

Winter Outfit for Marfa Trip

When traveling to Marfa this winter, I brought two outfits from Cos to echo the town’s minimalist style.

The first outfit: Cos top, skirt, and sandals.

The second outfit: Zara top, Cos trousers, Acne Studio boots.

I layered them with a MaxMara coat that kept me warm during the night out.

The winter weather in Marfa is rather comfortable. Due to the desert climate, it’s warm during the day but gets cold quickly when the sun goes down. During our day there (at the end of December), it was very comfortable to walk around with a sweater and light coat. Sometimes it got so hot that I could have gotten by in a t-shirt. Definitely bring layers when you plan your trip there.

Checked Blazer? Check!

Checked blazer for winter

I’m late to the party on this winter’s checked blazer craze and finally got mine from Zara. I styled it with a short skirt, stockings, and a pair of Mercedes Castillo pumps. Although now I’m living in a small town, my heart flies back to where it belongs when I have a piece of the city on me.
